Angel of Hope Project
Physical Description
The Angel of Hope statue is fashioned after the angel monument described in author Richard Paul Evan's book, "The Christmas Box". This book is a worldwide bestseller and hit movie. These statues are located throughout the country. The Sykesville/Eldersburg Angel would be the first one in Maryland. A candlelight ceremony is held at the sites each year on December 6th to celebrate these children and to provide a place for their family and friends to gather to remember them. Memorial pavers will be available for purchase, along with engraved benches. These bricks will make up "the walkway of love", and contain the names of children who departed far too early from their parents, families, and friends. Children Always Loved, Forever Remembered and Never Forgotten.
